So today history was made in my life.
In all of my years attending school and teaching school, the duck and cover drill was actually utilized.
All the times we practiced (once a year x 13 years in school plus teaching for 3 years) the duck and cover drill was important today.
Apparently there was a tornado suspected in South College Station (which is where we live and where I work) on highway 6. They couldn't for sure see it due to the hard rain, but from the way the wind was circulating and whatever else they judge tornadoes by, they suspected that there was one.
Thankfully it happened during my planning period.
