Prize for the Big Boy....

Parker pottied at school today.
His prize...
A (cheap) watch that he can change the faces to a plain one, a Woody, Rex or Buzz cover.
He loves it.

Check this out...

As much as Parker looks just like his Daddy, I want you to check out these pictures....

The last picture is actually my cousin, Trevor when he was 2ish.
Tonight I text messaged my aunt Teddie the first picture and she responded with the pic of Trevor. It's crazy how much Trevor and Parker look a like.
There is no denying that Parker belongs to Caleb, but we also see a lot of resemblance in Parker and Trevor. I guess it's the Story coming out! :)
I've said for a long time that Parker does things like Trevor did when he was little and the more and more he's around the Story clan, I'm pretty sure they all agree.
Here are just a few things that come to mind:
Parker and Trevor both love their backs to be rubbed at times (AND neither of them are good at returning the favor).
Parker and Trevor are both extremely affectionate. It's really sweet. Parker is very generous with his hugs and kisses and will even give them randomly. To this day, even as a senior in high school, Trevor has no shame in showing his family love in public.
Parker and Trevor also both love, love, love, love baseball. Parker already has a good arm on him!

I hope that Parker turns out to be a good kid like Trevor is.

A Valuable Reminder....

So tonight I told Parker that I needed to go to the potty and I would be right back. He was quick to remind me, "Don't forget to point your wiener down."
Yes, thank you, Parker.
A very, very valuable piece of information...

For boys.

But he is so thoughtful and helpful!
Love him!

Parker is DEFINITELY Caleb's Child.

Parker is beginning to be inquisitive as to where people live and where places are located. We usually give cities, but if it's a local place he's asking about we tell him streets or places around it.
This morning I told Parker that he was going to go to the dentist this afternoon. He said okay. Then a little bit later, he asked where the dentist is. I said on the street near my work. He had a few more questions and wondered if we were near it.
This is definitely a trait Caleb passed on to Parker.
Like father, like son. :)

Comfortable?

Today on the way home from Parker's school, I was talking to him about his new shoes. This is how our conversation went:
"Parker, do you like your new shoes?"
"Yes."
"Are they comfortable?"
"No, they aren't comfortable. I just like them."
"Oh. Okay."

Later I tried to explain what comfortable meant- to feel good. Parker agreed that they felt good, but they were NOT comfortable.

Let's Play a Game....

"Where's Parker?"
*Note: Parker could not identify himself.
So the other night I was fake crying because Parker had been doing that. He looked at me and asked if I needed a paci.
BAHHH
Where does he come up with these things????

Red Means STOP!

Parker recently learned about the red, green and yellow stop lights. He has made it his job to inform us of the color of lights we're coming up on well in advance. He takes his job very seriously. We were driving to the circus and the light gave us a green left turn arrow but also still had a red light with it. Parker panicked.
"Daddy, STOP! DADDY! STOP! STOP!"
Seriously. No joke.
The other day he did the same thing to me when I turned right on red.
I explained the rules of turning to him and he seemed okay with it.... for a little bit.
Last night Caleb was driving us and the light was yellow, but Parker likes to call it orange. He told Caleb he needed to slow down. I told Parker sometimes it means to speed up.
Needless to say, there is NEVER a dull moment around with inquisitive Parker. :)

Little Chef in the Making...

We had Taco Soup for dinner tonight. *No worries, the stove was not turned on.* Parker poured the ingredients in (all but the meat) and stirred it for a long time. When Caleb came home and was eating, Parker said, "I made that just for you!" He was so proud to help.

Parker also helped me make cookies for Caleb's trip this afternoon.

Such a good little helper!

Children's Place

So yesterday afternoon the items I ordered for Parker from Children's Place arrived. (Side note- I heart Children's Place- cheap, cute and usually they have a coupon.) Anyways... I had ordered Parker a couple more pairs of shorts to finish him up for summer and some flag flip-flops, 4th of July shirt and some new sunglasses.
He was so eager to get the package opened and see what was inside. I pulled out the flag flip-flops and said, "Parker, these are for the Fourth of July." He was so excited.
Then I pulled out the shirt, held it up for him to see and he asked, "Is that for Mexico?"
We've been telling Parker we're going on vacation this summer and I think he has in his mind that all vacations are in Mexico since that's where we went last fall on our cruise.
Last week someone asked me where he was taking me to lunch and he said Mexico. It's just on his mind! Maybe it's a sign that we need to go on another cruise or something! ;)

And for the underwear update...

Parker did not wear his underwear long yesterday at school because he will not go potty at school. I feel like we've tried everything! Encouragement, bribary, we've both even gone in there with him. He has used it once while I was with him in there, but I'm convinced he wanted ice cream right afterwards. The director at the school even decorated the walls in the bathroom for him personally with cute animals... it didn't matter; this morning when I dropped him off, he still wanted nothing to do with the bathroom... not even to look at the new decor.
Hmmm... I'm not sure what we're going to do!

Don't you just love whitey-tightey's?????

WOOHOO!

So Parker decided last night that he was going to wear big boy underwear to school today.
Fingers crossed it goes well! :) :)

The Circus

A family pic we tried to take before the circus began.
As you can tell, Parker was mesmerized by what was on on the floor.

This was one of the tricks... it's not a very good pic, but it's a guy riding a motorcycle on a rope across the arena. There are two girls hanging underneath the motorcycle.

Parker and Shaenyn ready for the circus to begin.

Overall Parker loved the circus. He did get upset during the tight-rope walk the guys were doing. He said he needed to go the car. We got him calmed down and he watched the remainder of the show with his ears covered. His favorite part that he talks about when the circus is brought up was the very last act. It was a huge, metal circular thing and 3 motorcycles got in it and rode around. We asked him if he would go again and he said yes and that the clowns would be there. He liked one clown... the pink one.

Doctor's Apt.

This morning I had my 2nd doctor's appointment. I was explaing to Parker that I had a doctor's appointment and that he would be going to Tia's (Chelsea) house.
He said, "You go to the doctor to check your tummy and baby."
"Yes, Parker, you are so right!"
"I want to see baby."
So I raised my shirt, he pointed to my belly button and he said, "baby in there."
Yep.

I was at the doctor for almost 2 hours because it was a crazy day for them. Dr. Gayle did an ultrasound and everything looked great. I got some more cute little pictures. He tried to see what gender baby is, but he said that he saw signs of both... still too early. We are scheduled to go find out what we're having on Tuesday, June 7. I'll try to take more stomach pics to post for you all to see.

Ready for summer....

He started out in the backyard, fully clothed, watering the plants.
And you see where that ended....
Playing in the water in underwear.
He had a blast though... he watered the grass, washed his truck, crawled under the water.
Tons of F-U-N!

I want to watch...

Parker is really getting into watching his TV shows.
Last night right before he went to bed he said, "I want to watch Handy Manny."
I told him that I had a better idea... why don't you watch the back of your eye lids?
He thought it was a show then we explained to him that he could close his eyes and watch them.
The three of us played that little game for a few minutes. It didn't take Mr. Parker very long to figure out that if he closed his eyes long enough he would go to sleep.

My Birthday...

I'm so excited that Parker gets just as excited about birthday's as I do!
Yesterday we were talking and I told him that my birthday was in two weeks. He's so excited. He's found me all kinds of "prizes" (surprises), birthday gifts and presents from around the house. He hides them behind his back and gets so excited when he shows them to me.
Tonight he even started singing "Happy Birthday to Momma" and blew out my "candles."

Caleb also mentioned to him that they needed to go pick out a birthday hat for me. Parker said, "I got Papa a birthday hat."

He's so darn cute, imaginative and giving!
