I should have known....

Parker and I had a picnic today in our backyard with his McKids table that Granny and Gramps bought him. I made each of us a sandwich (Parker's first sandwich and he loved it) and we, well really I, sat at the table and enjoyed the beautiful weather while eating. Parker played and would come get a bite every now and then.
Long after I was finished eating, I moved his food inside hoping he would come in. He came in and got his drink and took it back to the table outside. He was trying to carry his plate with pieces of his sandwich back to the table outside and he dropped it. He wasn't very happy when Patches ate a few pieces of his sandwich. I helped him gather the sandwich and took it back outside for him.
I guess the picnic wasn't over yet!?!?!

Going Out With My Boots On!

My Great Aunt Virginia and Uncle Charles gave me a pair of brown Wrangler Boots when I was a baby. Parker is now able to wear them and he won't wear anything else! It's so cute and it's nice because when he walks, they clank on the ground so I always know where he's at! :)
Yesterday Caleb realized that one of the soles was coming off the boot and the other was about to start coming off as well. We pulled them off of Parker and we thought we hid them from him. We were wrong.... he found this morning before he left for school. He tried to pull his Nike's off and put his boots on. I distracted him from the boots, got them in the car without too big of a ruckus. I took the boots to a boot repair man and he's fixing them for us. This weekend I'll be searching for him some new boots in the next size to have on hand. I'm not even going to try to explain to him that he outgrew those and has to wear tennis shoes all the time!

2010 Trike-A-Thon for Saint Jude

Last Thursday, March 4, was Parker's Trike-A-Thon to raise money for Saint Jude. Every year his school, Hilcrest Mother's Day Out, does this program. Even though Parker is only 16 months old, I didn't think he was too young to participate. He collected $100 and thank goodness his donors didn't sponsor him based on how many times he went around the track. He made it 1/2 way around the "track" and decided to play on the playground and throw mulch. He had a good time and it was fun watching him! Granny and Gramps came down to cheer him on as well. Here are a few pictures I was able to get.

Thanks again to everyone who donated! We really appreciate your continued support of Parker!

I know, I know, I haven't updated since Monday. In my defense, everything that has been worth updating includes pictures. I'm really annoyed that our internet will not upload the pics to here. I got busy at the office and forgot to load them.
Wednesday Caleb took off work- a couple of reasons why, one of which was that it was our 3rd anniversary. But anyways.... To the point... I have some Wrangler boots that my Great Aunt and Uncle, Virginia and Charles, bought me when I was a baby. Parker is now able to fit in them! Caleb put them on Parker for the first time on Wednesday and boy did Parker think he was BIG STUFF! He looooved walking around and hearing them clank on the floors. He was so proud of them; hopefully pictures will be up soon.
Yesterday was Parker's Trike-A-Thon for Saint Jude at his school. So far he has raised exactly $100- he has until March 25 to collect donations. The idea is to make either a flat donation or pledge so much for each time around the "track" that the child goes on their "trike." Good thing everyone who donated to Parker did the flat donation because he rode his Red Rocket around the playground half way. The rest of the time he threw mulch and slid on the slide. Granny and Gramps were there with me to root him on. I videoed him and maybe someday we can try to post it on here, but no promises.... You know how I am about all this.

He's Cracking Us Up

Parker is in the best, funniest mood tonight!
Caleb came home earlier for his hour break and Parker was just laughing for no reason. There was seriously nothing going on that was funny. He made us laugh because he was laughing so hard!
Then he finished his dinner and put his bowl on his head. We couldn't help but laugh because it was so random. After his bath he started walking around and putting everything on his head and laughing. He has this square box thing that you can play washers with- it's foam- and he put it on his head and walked with it up there. He looked like the ladies in Jamaica who carry baskets on their head!
To top the evening off, he loves giving Patches lovin'. He tried to ride Patches like a horse. No Joke. Patches was extremely patient with him. He would wander around the kitchen and Parker would follow him. I finally put Patches up on the couch for safety.
I got several pictures of the evening and will try to post them tomorrow.
