(Impromptu) Family Vacation....

Earlier in the year Caleb and I had decided that we would take a family vacation to San Antonio. There is a lot you can do there and we were able to get some good deals on places.... It's Parker's last year to go to Sea World for free and I was also able to get a free season pass since I was a certified teacher. Therefore, we just had to purchase Caleb one. We also found some cheap, discounted tickets to the water park in San Antonio and scoped out a place for us to rent a cabin.
Well we changed our mind about going to San Antonio when my cousin, Trevor, was drafted by the Colorado Rockies back in June. We decided that since Parker is OBSESSED with Trevor and baseball we would go to Wyoming to see Trevor play baseball. Caleb's mom got us the hook-up on free airlines tickets to fly stand-by to Denver. We would then rent a car and drive 4 hours to Casper. Flights looked good yesterday when she checked them for us..... We felt so good about our vacation!
So Parker and I had Open House at our new school/ work last night. I was home by 7. We loaded up our vehicle and headed off to Houston to spend then the night so we could get up early and head to the airport. We were there by 7 and at the gate by 7:30. Flights were booked and we were far down on the stand-by list. We waited around for the second flight. Not good either. Our only option was to go to Oklahoma City, Vegas and then back to Denver, but we probably wouldn't arrive in Denver until 11:35 PM. Um. NO THANK YOU! So we decided we weren't going to make the trip to Wyoming. We were more than bummed, especially Parker. Our luggage did get a vacation. It went on to Denver. So we were stuck in Houston until our luggage arrived back from it's trip.
While waiting on our luggage, we went Kemah. Let me just tell you- it's a great, family friendly place to go for super cheap! Parker had a blast. While he was enjoying Kemah Caleb and I traded off sitting in Starbucks using their wi-fi and trying to figure out what to do.... stay in Galveston or go San Antonio to utilize our season passes at Sea World.
Parker rode the carousel twice:

They had a great playground that Parker enjoyed.
Parker and Caleb went to a sting-ray exhibit and Caleb fed them.
Before we left, Parker played in the dancing (crazy as he called it) water. He was asking the whole time we were there to get wet (play in the water) so we let him.
He was SOAKED by the time he was finished.

We went to Sonic afterwards before heading to the mall. We didn't even make it a mile down the road from Sonic and this was Parker.

At the mall, Parker made Cooper a very special gift... we visited Build a Bear and Parker made Cooper the cutest, softest dog. He's going to give it to him at the hospital.
After the mall we headed to eat at Jason's Deli. While we were eating the airport called and they had our luggage. We picked up our luggage and headed home. We decided we would head to San Antonio tomorrow after we napped and stay two nights.
Today was NOTHING like we planned, but it was a great day. We were able to spend time together with no interruptions.... no where to go, no schedule to follow. It was so nice!
