Parker has been doing a great job of pottying in his potty since last Thursday. Even this weekend at Nanny & Pop's & Papa & Nana's, Parker used his potty!
Today when I picked Parker up from school we were almost to the car to leave and I asked him if he used the potty at school.
His response: "I no like those potties at school."
Like Duh Mom!
So he's diaperin' it up at school and pottying at home.

Excited!!
Tonight Caleb and I are celebrating our 4th anniversary. Every anniversary we have gone to a different destination for at least 1 night. We have been to Fredericksburg, The Gaylord, Galveston and tonight we're going to downtown Fort Worth- Sundance Square. We both love Sundance Square and are super excited to celebrate 4 years of our marriage there.
We got a room at the Omni and have dinner reservations at The Reata.
Parker is staying with my Dad and Terry (Pop & Nanny). I'm not sure who is more excited- Parker or them.
We all stayed at their house last night and this morning they took Parker to Trevor's baseball game.
Caleb and I are going to go check on my Papa (in the hospital) and then go to Fort Worth later this afternoon.
Here's to celebrating 4 years and Parker spending time with more grandparents!

Sweet Boy
Tonight we stopped to get gas on our way out of town. Caleb got out, pumped the gas and got back in. Parker (all on his own) said, "Thank you Daddy for getting gas."
Caleb and I just looked at each other and smiled.
Such a sweet boy.
It's the small things people do for us that we don't need to take for granted. :)

Night at the Core's
Tonight I had Junior League and Parker went to Opal's house until Caleb got off of work.
I'm not sure who had more fun Parker or the Core's.
Opal said he played really hard with all three kids while he was there.
Sebastian and Parker were upstairs and Sebastian threw a bean bag over the balcony.
Parker thought it was the funniest thing he had ever, ever, ever seen!
He didn't ask again for the bean bag to go over board until Caleb got there.
Parker started dragging the bean bad and saying, "drop it."
Opal told him to watch as she dropped the bean bag from the bar stool.
It didn't have anywhere close to the same affect on Parker as Sebastian dropping it over the balcony.
Parker then started to try and drag the rather large bean bag over to Sebastian and get Sebastian to drop it again.
Opal said it was really cute to see Parker go over to Sebastian because Sebastian knew exactly what to do. :)

Sunday Funday when you're feeling better!
Parker and his Daddy went to Shipley's this morning and picked up donuts.
It's been a while since they've had donuts.
He was fever free for almost 24 hours!
We were so excited.
We went to Cane's because we had Aggie Women's Basketball tickets from the night before. They scored over 65 points, so with your ticket you get buy one get one free at Cane's.
As we were sitting there, Parker was leaning on me and some girls walked in with their parents. The girls were probably between 5-7 years old.
Parker pointed at them and said, "girls."
He then leaned his head over on his arm rested on me.
It was like he was gazing at the most beautiful girls he had ever seen.
It was pretty funny and cute!
We went to Target to look at cameras. While we were looking at one, Parker took it upon himself to "take pictures" with one of the others on display. He had great form.

Granny & Gramps = Fun
Parker and Gramps are big time buddies. They had a great time playing together. They played cars and trains in Parker's room, read books, took naps, went on walks, watched dump trucks, played outside, sat on the porch together... basically they all around had FUN together!
Parker also loves his Granny. They had picnics on his table under the fort, read books together and had lots of fun!!
We really appreciate them coming to keep Parker for us last Thursday and Friday. They had already planned on coming before Parker got sick, so it worked out great!
Although you can't tell from the pictures, Parker has been running 101.5 fever since Wednesday morning. We still haven't taken him to the doctor because as long as he has ibuprofren in him, he's a-ok.

Spoons
Last night I had Junior League and Parker, Granny, Gramps and Caleb were going to go eat as soon as Caleb got off of work. I asked Parker what he wanted to eat.
"Spoons."
"What?"
"Spoons."
"Oh, yeah, we can't go to Spoons for dinner that's an ice cream place. So what do you want for dinner?"
"Ice cream."
*Disclaimer. He ate chicken and green beans for dinner. No ice cream at all. ;)

You work?
Parker had a rough night last night... was up at 3:30 and then again at 6.
At 3:30 I went in to his room and was talking to him.
He was wanted his Gramps.
He wanted to know where Gramps was.
He was ready to get up for the day.
I told him it was not time to wake up but that he needed to go back to sleep. I explained that I had to work today.
He said, "Daddy work."
"Yes, Daddy work. Mommy is working today too."
"You work?"
He seemed a little confused.
It made me chuckle just a tad and then I told him yes, I actually work too... and that I would appreciate it if he would go sleep.
Oh the things kids say!

Lunch Time...
This morning about 10:20 daycare called and told me that Parker was running a fever. He had been crying on and off all morning. Caleb told me he thought Parker might be getting sick this morning. I brought him home and he cried when I told him he couldn't go outside with Ranger and Patches. I gave in. If he's up to playing outside and with as pretty as the weather is, why not? He ate all of his chicken nuggets I made him and his grapes-both dipped in ketchup. This is a pic of him waving at me during his lunch.
Although I'm sad that Parker is sick, it was nice to be home with him this afternoon- well for lunch- he slept for 4 1/2 hours!

Wooohhhhh MAN!
I bought Parker a Read & Share Bible from Books R Fun at my work. It came in yesterday (convient on Valentine's Day), so last night I was laying down with Parker and we were reading about all the things God created. He talked about the owl and the different birds on the page. I said, "Parker, God made that owl." He sat there for a split second and said, "woooohooo MAN!" He thought it was so cool. I wish you could have heard him say this. It's so much cuter hearing it than reading it, but you get the point.
This morning Caleb asked him what all God created. His answer was "animals."
So smart.
So precious.
So Parker.

And the Truth Comes Out
So Caleb read the blogpost and confessed that he told Parker the story about Zoe's pink pig, Pink. Parker did add his own ending (that he ate Pink) whenever he told me the story.
I'm still impressed though because he remembered the story and told me about it!

A Pig Named Pink.
So every night we lay down with Parker before he goes to sleep.
We either read to him or tell him a story.
Tonight I laid down with him and told him a story.
Here's how our conversation went:
Me: Parker, what do you want the story to be about tonight?
Parker: A pig.
Me: A what?
Parker: A pig.
Me: What color is the pig?
Parker: Pink. Zoe's pig.
(Zoe is his little girlfriend at school he LOVES.)
Me: Oh, Zoe has a pig. What does this pig do?
Parker: Plays in the mud.
Me: Oh man, he likes to play in the mud. What does Zoe do?
Parker: Zoe get paper towel.
Me: Oh what does Zoe need paper towel for?
Parker: To wipe the pig.
Me: Ohhhh. What is this pigs name?
Parker: Pink.
Me: So once there was this cute little girl, Zoe and her pig named Pink. Pink liked to play in the mud and make a mess, so Zoe got the paper towel to wipe the pig off.
Parker: In the barn.
Me: Yes, Pink was in the barn. Then Zoe's friend, Parker, came along. Parker what did you do?
Parker: I eat him. Like this...
And he showed me how he ate the pig. (Moved his head back and forth and made a chomping noise.)
I'm not sure how I feel about this. He ATE the pig!! Not just any pig, but his friend Zoe's pig named PINK who lived in the barn and liked to make a mess but was cleaned up with a paper towel!
HE EVEN SHOWED ME HOW HE ATE THE PIG!
Caleb is probably thrilled. Gettin' his hunting spirit started at the young age of 2.
I'm pretty sure as Zoe is laying in bed tonight she's not talking about eating Parker's zebra or something?
It must be the little boy in him coming out.
The same little boy who has me drive past the tractors and cranes everyday after school.
The same little boy who asks us to go fast, really, really fast in the car.
Precious Parker.
With such a great imagination.
Oh, Parker.... you always keep me on my toes.
It's the simple things in life...
I've been wearing my glasses the past week or so and Parker finds it hilariously funny to look over the top of them or even up underneath them at my eyes.
He laughs so hard you would have thought I was telling him the funniest joke in the whole wide world.
He tends to do this whenever we are laying in bed trying to go to sleep.
I can't help but laugh, because if you've heard Parker laugh, his laugh is so contagious.
Love that silly boy!

Associations
Parker has started making associations between things.
For example, a few weeks ago he associated Nana and GiGi with both living in Irving.
He also associated Aunt Teddie with Tyler because we had seen them at lunch together.
Yesterday we were driving by some newly built houses... keep in mind they weren't being built at the time- Parker could just tell that they were "newer" than the others.
Out of no-where he said, "build new house at Nana's."
It's amazing that he associated those houses with the new one they are building across the street from Nana & Papa.
He's a genius. :)

LoViN' OuR WeEkEnD! & OuR bOy
We have really enjoyed being home this weekend.
I asked Parker if he was having a good weekend and he said, "Yes, with Mommy and Daddy."
He's just so darn cute.
And fun.
And smart.
Tonight we wanted to get out of the house but didn't know what to do... we went to Half Priced Books, Sam's and Spoons.
Spoons has limited seating and there wasn't room for us so we took ours to the car and all ate it.
Parker had his very own container of yogurt.
We let him decide what flavor and then I put frosted animal cookies on top.
He was such a big boy and waited for us to pay and then go to the car.
We sat him on the console in the front seat and he did such a great job eating his ice cream and not making (too big of) a mess.
Caleb and I are amazed at how quickly the past 27 months plus a few days have flown by. We're realizing more and more each day that Parker is no longer our little baby.
He's a little boy.... well a big boy.
He can tell us things.
He likes imaginary play.
He likes to laugh and make us laugh.
He loves to play with his airport with his Daddy.
He loves to tell us "I waked up" when we talk about him needing to go to bed or take a nap.
Really the list is endless.
Parker,
You're such a blessing. We are so thankful to have you in our lives.
Thank you for bringing so much joy to our lives!
You are precious!
We love you more than words can say!

Potty or Bucket... Whatever!
Happy Snow Day to US!
This morning the whole town pretty much shut down... even UPS didn't work due to the ice!
It was so nice to have all three of us at home!!!
By the afternoon though we were ready to get out and explore...
(The ice started melting by noon...)
We went to dinner with Ryan, Brittany and Jackson at On the Border.
We tried to go to Chuy's but it was an hour wait!! EVEN AT 4:45!!!
After dinner we went to Target and bought Parker a little potty. He was so excited about it that he rode around in the cart sitting on his potty in the cart.
He was also super excited about his Thomas & Dora stickers we bought to try and bribe him to use the potty.
As soon as we got home, Parker sat on his potty and USED IT! We were so excited!
After wards he drug it around the house like a toy.
He called it his "bucket."
I'm fine with whatever he wants to call it...
Potty.
Bucket.
Pee container.
Pee Holder.
Anything.

Potty Training DENIED
Parker's new teacher, Ms. Betty, has a great philosophy on potty training and is trying it out with several of Parker's friends. We thought it would be good to see if the "peer pressure" would work in our favor and he would be excited to wear his big boy underwear.
We sent them to school with him.
Ms. Betty put them on him.
Each time she would pull his pants down and lead him into the bathroom he would scream, "NOOOO."
Needless to say she put potty training on hold.
So back to buying more diapers.

No nap for Parker.
So today when I picked Parker up from school Ms. Shannon, the helping teacher in his class, informed me that he did not nap. (He did this on Monday as well.) She said he was really good- laid on his nap mat and just hung out while the rest of the class snoozed. She even laid down with him and it didn't help.
I'm not sure why he's choosing not to nap.
He seems to require a lot of sleep.

Ms. Bettie
While Parker was out sick for a week, they found a new teacher for his class.
Her name is Ms. Bettie. She has had 8 years experience with 2 & 3 year olds.
I have watched how she interacts with them and she is phenomenal.
She does great communicating with the parents too.
I asked Parker about Ms. Bettie. He told me, "my teacher at my school."
He mumbled a few other things- not sure- but from his tone and the look on his face, he likes her too.
